Dubhe is an innovative dating app designed to help people forge meaningful connections. Tailored for nightlife and events, Dubhe simplifies meeting potential matches by displaying a scannable barcode at the entrance of a club, bar, or event. Attendees scan the code and provide their email. The next day, a unique one-hour window opens where users can upload a photo and view others who attended and scanned, giving them the opportunity to swipe yes if interested. Matches are made only when both parties swipe yes, offering a discreet, second-chance platform for people who felt a spark but missed exchanging details in person.
Dubhe offers clubs and event organizers valuable insights into their audience through the data collected during the scanning process. By analyzing attendee demographics such as age, gender, and engagement levels, clubs can tailor their marketing strategies, curate more appealing events, and enhance guest experiences. Dubhe was made using JavaScript for its responsive, user-friendly interface and seamless functionality across devices. The backend leverages MongoDB, a robust NoSQL database, to efficiently handle user data, event scans, and match histories. This combination ensures high scalability and fast performance, enabling the app to process real-time attendee interactions and provide accurate analytics to event organizers.
